Childhood well-being has made possible to identify the impact it has on adulthood, as well as in other aspects (Buitrago et al., 2019; Oros, 2014). In this sense, it is essential to identify well-being as a primary dimension of childhood development. Research and analysis in this area integrate different perspectives, putting interest in groups, social contexts and diverse situations. Therefore, diagnosing well-being based on what happens to their living conditions is increasingly important (Alfaro et al., 2015). Due to the change caused by Covid-19, it is necessary to evaluate the perception of well-being in childhood, with the objective of this study to identify the level of well-being reported by children and young people during the start of the distance school cycle in Mexico City and the State of Mexico during the period of confinement due to Covid-19. This research was carried out on a sample of 104 children with an age range of 3 to 15 years, who answered a relevant well-being scale according to their ages. The results indicate that there are significant differences between girls and boys in terms of their positive or negative emotional experiences only in those older than 8 years old.

Palavras-chave : childhood; lockdown; wellness; educational psychology; emotions.
