Resumo

Based on reviews of works related to body mass index (obesity and overweight) in young people aged 19 to 24 and 25 to 30 years old, in some documents of the World Health Organization (WHO) and in certain Latino universities, show that the problem has become uncontrollable, and so it leads to several effects, including incurable diseases, many of the cases come to death. Therefore, the present study is aimed to explore how many and which students of the career of Accounting and Administration of the Autonomous University of Baja California, Coahuila Autonomous University of Veracruz and suffer such a condition.

The study also analyzes the application and impact of prevention programs that are currently being applied to the case at hand. Being an exploratory study and comparison the three universities in Mexico, is addressed through the empirical method, which examines the characteristics of the conditions found, as well as epidemiological care programs, primary, secondary and tertiary education. Finally, the relevance of the study is aimed at disseminating the results to those involved and interested in the study and university authorities, in order to contribute to the strengthening of existing health programs at the universities under research and consequently promote the educational achievement of the students.
