VIDAL GIRON, Saraí et al. Submucosal small bowel lipoma: a rare cause of intestinal obstruction. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.1, pp.67-69. Epub 11-Maio-2021. ISSN 1870-7203.
Intestinal lipomas are the most common benign tumors of the digestive tract and are diagnosed incidentally. They are usually asymptomatic. Intestinal obstruction in the adult secondary to a small bowel lipoma is a rare condition. We report the case of a 35-year-old man who presented with intestinal obstruction, pain and abdominal distension. The patient underwent an intestinal resection by exploratory laparotomy. The histopathological report confirmed the diagnosis of submucosal lipoma of the small intestine.
