Introduction:

The correction of hallux valgus by minimally invasive surgery is a technique that is being carried out more frequently as a therapeutic alternative; it is done on an outpatient basis, and does not require the application of a tourniquet and ischemia, which decreases soft tissue damage; it can also be performed with minimally invasive anesthetic techniques such as troncular block, leaving behind the usual anesthetic management of regional anesthesia and some of its complications.

Material and methods:

A case series is presented as a prospective, descriptive, longitudinal study, where we evaluated the results of 31 patients with a diagnosis of hallux valgus treated with percutaneous surgery under ankle block anesthesia.

Conclusions:

Minimally invasive surgery for the correction of hallux valgus can be performed with troncular block, which presents advantages such as anesthesia only in the region without involvement of other systems, allowing postoperative analgesia and the patient being handled as a short-stay surgery.
