Objective: to analyze the children and teenagers’ disappearance and non-location phenomenon in Sonora, Mexico. Methodology: as a source of information, Sonora Amber Alert posters were compiled from Twitter social network, between February 2015 and April 2021. The information was analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software. Results: it was found that in the entity the phenomenon at stake has distinctive features, both individual (sex of the missing children and teenagers, age, among other things) and structural (time of the disappearances or the no-localization, geography, and the place where it took place). Limitations: only the Sonora Amber Alert information posters is analyzed, so the reporting of the crime and the inferences may be under-represented. Conclusions: individual and structural features are interrelated, so it is concluded that they are useful to delve into broader theoretical debates around forced disappearance, the boundaries between disappearance and non-location of children and teenagers and the articulation of networks or criminal groups with the phenomenon in the region.
