MARTINEZ ISIDRO, Paulina; SANCHEZ SUAREZ, Aurelio; MIJANGOS-NOH, Juan Carlos  e  EASTMOND SPENCER, Amarella. Mayan Philosophical Thought in the Management of the Solar: in Yaxunah, Yucatán, Mexico. Región y sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.34, e1612.  Epub 01-Jun-2023. ISSN 2448-4849.  https://doi.org/10.22198/rys2022/34/1612.

Objective: to analyze the productive processes of the solar from the philosophical perspective of the Mayan people of the Yaxunah community, Yucatán, Mexico. Methodology: 86 semi-structured interviews and grounded theory discourse analysis were conducted. Results: the activities that are carried out in the stages of the productive processes (pre-planting, planting, post-planting and harvesting) nosótrico, intersubjective and respect to nature elements are presented. Value: the evidence of the understanding of the use and conservation of the in-force Mayan biocultural heritage in the production processes within the site is present. The uses and customs associated with the Mayan philosophical thought are rooted in the community level and despite the intervention of institutions, government programs, religion, market theories and civil society organizations are maintained. In addition, the indissoluble human-nature relationship of said thought is highlighted, necessary for the conservation of biocultural heritage and for the local agrobiodiversity evolutionary services. Limitations: the investigation circumscribes in one community of Yucatán. Conclusions: the productive processes in the Mayan solar, based on the philosophical thought, lead to complex life preservation systems.
