This study is a meta-research project that examines research work, development, and innovation (R&D&I) and doctoral dissertations produced in Spain from 2007 to 2018, whose object of study is communication about the environment, climate change, and sustainability in the various scenarios of communicative interaction. In the current context of environmental and climate emergencies, it is indispensable to transfer scientific knowledge about this object of study to the media, as well as to institutions and society, in order to improve the form of communicating and making understandable the complexity of environmental problems, the magnitude of risk, and the necessary measures for making the ecological transition to sustainability.
