OLAVE, Irlanda  e  VILLARREAL, Ana-Cecilia. The Process Of Co-regulating Learning and Peer Interaction. RMIE [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.61, pp.377-399. ISSN 1405-6666.

The purpose of this article, which forms part of more extensive research, is to study the elements that influence the processes of co-regulating learning. The results suggest that students co-regulate their learning when they participate in academic activities in small heterogeneous groups; at the same time, by asking questions, they explain and justify their opinions, express their reasoning, and reflect on their knowledge. Such co-regulation, however, depends to a large degree on interpersonal relations and the configuration of the groups. The study was conducted at Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, in Mexico, with sixth-semester undergraduates majoring in English. The findings are based on the analysis of videotaped interactions.

Palavras-chave : self-regulation; peer groups; discussion groups; analysis of discourse; argumentation; higher education; Mexico.
