OLIVO PEREZ, Miguel Ángel; ALANIZ HERNANDEZ, Claudia e REYES GARCIA, Luis. A Critique of the Concepts of Governability and Governance: A Discussion that Refers to Scool Boards of Social Participation in Mexico. RMIE [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.50, pp.775-799. ISSN 1405-6666.
This article sustains that the underlying assumptions of school boards of social participation-assumptions resulting from focuses of governability and governance-are insufficient for fully knowing "what happens" when they are implemented at schools, and especially if they tend to empower school actors or not. The report presents the need to give these focuses greater theoretical depth by turning to the historical and cultural uniqueness of the contexts where they are applied. The purpose is for them to serve not as general heuristic resources at the service of political action, but as theoretical tools for improved diagnosis or intervention in Mexico's educational reality.
