This essay analyzes the concept of belief in the work of Michel de Certeau, a notion that "comes to be" within the margins of two problemata: the question about the birth of the human sciences and the discredit of the institutions that came about in France in May of '68. "Belief" -in it's conceptual entirety- becomes the explanation for the process of cultural transmission from one generation to the next.
