In a few years, it has radically changed the culture of evaluation among public servants. However, not all aspects that are related to this subject have advanced as well. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to analyze the relevant moments in the “history” of the evaluation to government programs in Mexico, the items that -since the perspective of an evaluation team- constitute progress (although some are only partial) and setbacks (or very limited progress) and, in conclusion, what we consider that is necessary to be done.
