The topography of the oceanic bottom of the exclusive economical zone of Mexico is considerably more complex than the one of the continent. In it, the principal recognized morphostructures for the world Ocean area present: shelf, continental slope, continental rise, trenchs, marginal marine basins, seamounts, diverse ridges (island arc, of abyssal plains, borderland), midoceanic ridges and rift valley. The before mentioned are represented in a morphostructure chart, which complements the existing ones on the physiography and geology of continental land. In the Mexican Oceanic Bottom, intense movements take place, which have influenced and influence the formation of submarine and continental topography.
