ROMERO-SALAZAR, Alexis; RUJANO ROQUE, Raima  e  ROMERO SULBARAN, Miguel Ángel. Agresividad cotidiana y aprobación de la violencia extrema. Estud. soc [online]. 2009, vol.17, n.33, pp.259-280. ISSN 0188-4557.

Violence is one of the first social issues in Venezuela, there is empirical evidence that impunity and increment of firearm possesion contributes to the growing rate of homicides. Even though the country is not at war, interpersonal violence in daily life affects everybody; this violence is an expression of cultural guidelines and rules that impel aggressive behavior. It is a context by wich the feeling of vulnerability justifies the approval of police unofficial acts and murdering common criminals. In that sense a research was carried on with the objective of analyzing the issue of urban violence in Venezuela through out the exploration of several areas, one of these areas relating to rules and culture; its results are described in this article. The following elements of some perspectives were taken into consideration for the theoretical contextualization: the culturalistic of Montangu (1970), the social cognitive of Bandura (1973), the learned behavior of Eron (1987) and the symbolic perspective of Charon (1985) and Mead (1934). The main results show the existence of a violent climate in the domestic domain that reflects upon the comunitary and social space, therefore reproducing the cultural pattern of violence approval.
