DIAZ-LOPEZ, Ernesto; MORALES-ROSALES, Edgar J.; FRANCO-MORA, Omar e DOMINGUEZ-LOPEZ, Aurelio. Light attenuation radiation intercepted, and yield of maize as a function of phosphorus. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2011, vol.29, n.1, pp.65-72. ISSN 2395-8030.
To evaluate the effect of phosphorus on yield, light attenuation coefficient, leaf area index, intercepted radiation and dry matter, the maize cultivars Amarillo Almoloya, Cacahuacintle and Condor were grown in Cerrillo Piedras Blancas, Mexico, with six levels of phosphorus (P2O5) (0, 40, 80, 120, 160 and 200 kg ha-1 and density of 7.2 plants m-2). Under a randomized block design in a factorial arrangement, the results indicated that phosphorus affects yield, leaf area index, intercepted radiation, biomass and the light attenuation coefficient, and 120 days after sowing. The interaction cultivar × phosphorus was significant only for grain yield.
