This essay focuses on the historical subjects who played significant roles in electrification projects in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a significant period in the expansion of the use of electricity to illuminate public spaces and support productive activities. It posits that such projects fostered the adoption of methods of business management and organization by accumulating and circulating technical and entrepreneurial knowledge that came to transform the electricity industry by admitting ambitious and innovative processes.
