Objective:
Develop recommendations for asthma control at school age.
Methodology:
Qualitative research conducted in the 2013-2015 period. A bibliographic and documentary review was carried out. A guide was prepared for which the methodology proposed by Moriyama was used. A group of experts consisted of five researchers, trained in different branches of knowledge. The experts have traveled through different levels of the health system.
Results:
The food, nutritional and home environment recommendations for asthmatic children are structured in two parts, one on information on food and nutrition and another on environmental control measures.
Limitations:
The contextualization of the recommendations for food, nutritional and environmental management included in the strategy.
Conclusions:
Based on the risk and protective factors, recommendations were proposed for food, nutritional and home environment management as a strategy for asthma control, aimed at health professionals, patients and family members.
