Cultural diversity has been increasing visibility and so are social movements searching to be heard. At the same time cultural studies have conformed a special area for studies and research that have been contributing to the recognition of culture identities. Nevertheless, in the opposite way, there have been developing some lines of argument which are calling into question the very cultural studies. In this paper I’ll expose some of these critical lines of thought against culturalism in order to throw some light from them to part of the land plundering that is being practiced in Mexico all around.
