LO BRUTTO, Giuseppe y VAZQUEZ SALAZAR, Carlos Otto. Good Living or Development? Seeking Alternatives and Horizons. Tla-melaua [online]. 2015, vol.8, n.37, pp.50-68. ISSN 2594-0716.
The following article will deal with the concept of development as a mechanism of power that has driven us to a multidimensional crisis and the destruction of our environment. The general theoretical framework will deal with the perspective of the capitalist system. The article makes a historical account with the idea of development, highlighting its nature of a myth. What stands out is the looting of its natural resources throughout five centuries, and it addresses the arrival of governments with a national-popular orientation to the Andean Countries. That has resulted in the progress that has represented the recognition of Sumak Kawasay or Good living, the limitations and inconsistencies of such governments to center their strategies in the extensive extraction of their natural resources and its position within the framework of the hegemonic concept of development.
