In a world where information constantly flows and scientific disciplines are increasingly intertwined, the visibility and reach of scientific publications become essential pillars to promote the advancement of knowledge. In this context, with great enthusiasm and satisfaction, I present this editorial note, highlighting a transcendental milestone in the history of Revista Cartográfica: its inclusion in the prestigious Scopus database.

Scopus, known for being one of the most prestigious international abstract and citation databases, has become a fundamental point of reference for the academic and scientific community in its search for quality research. In this sense, the indexing of Revista Cartográfica in Scopus is not just a seal of approval, but a reflection of the constant commitment to innovation and excellence. It is a testimony to the quality and relevance of the articles that are published. This achievement reinforces the credibility and influence of Revista Cartográfica in the academic and scientific community, by providing an internationally recognized forum for the exchange of knowledge, technological advances and methodological approaches in the field of Cartography, Geographic Information Science and other related disciplines.

By being part of the community indexed in Scopus, Revista Cartográfica joins an interdisciplinary network of leading scientific journals around the world, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas between different fields, further enriching dialogue and the development of new perspectives associated with the themes of the journal. On the other hand, Revista Cartográfica is an Open Access publication and free of charge for the authors, offering a publication modality that contributes significantly to the advancement of science and the benefit of society as a whole. From this point of view, the journal is presented as an important alternative, with indexing recognized by the academic world, to contribute to equity in the dissemination and access to scientific knowledge.

The Scopus indexing of Revista Cartográfica represents the culmination of sustained and continuous efforts; a testimony to what is possible when a community comes together for a common purpose; an achievement shared with authors, reviewers, readers and collaborators. I thank the authors, whose contributions from the heart of our journal, for trusting us to share their research; to our reviewers, whose dedication and experience have enriched each article we publish, and to our readers for their continued support and interest in our publication. Extending thanks to the Cartography Commission, the team of the Department of Social Communication and Authorities of the PAIGH and to all those who have contributed, in one way or another, to this important achievement.

I look forward to the future and the new advances of Revista Cartográfica, which will surely emerge as a result of this indexing, which is a starting point, not a final destination. Continuing with passion and dedication, ensuring that each issue remains a valuable source of knowledge and innovation.
