Resumen

VIU, Julieta. On the other Side: Miguel Brascó. Latinoamérica [online]. 2023, n.76, pp.105-122.  Epub 17-Mar-2023. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2023.76.57540.

In an artistic context that was at least adverse to the representation of consumption and leisure, the Argentinian Miguel Brascó, a regular in wineries and restaurants, wrote a large number of chronicles on escabio and morphi aimed at the gourmet world. This writer baptized “wine journalist” (who gave talks in vineyards, participated in television programs about cooking and directed gastronomic magazines) built an image of a bon vivant chronicler atypical for the genre while at the same time inaugurating a writing without prejudices on neglected topics. This article deals with the centrality of pleasure, which defines his aesthetics, which illuminates a hidden area of the Latin American chronicle forged from an author who, in his relationship with the world, put enjoyment first. Hence, the originality of this article to approach an author outside the canon with an eccentric position regarding the hegemonic themes and modes of representation.

Palabras llave : Miguel Brascó; Chronicle; Bon vivant; Pleasure.
