Resumen

GOMEZ HERRERA, Fernanda Abigail. Transphobia in sexual dissidence: discrimination that is not seen. LiminaR [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.1, e992.  Epub 14-Sep-2023. ISSN 2007-8900.  https://doi.org/10.29043/liminar.v21i1.992.

The objective of this article is to comprehensively study transphobia, in its definition and manifestations, with the intention of tracking, describing, and classifying transphobic practices and discourses towards trans populations in their daily relationships with the LGB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual) community. Using a qualitative methodology, interviews were conducted with four young transgender university students and activists, and three young LGB university students also associated with activism. It is concluded that transphobic practices exist among LGB people and towards the trans community, even if they are not “intentional”. In this sense, a typology proposal is presented as an analysis tool to group and classify transphobic manifestations.

Palabras llave : transphobia; discrimination; sexual dissidences; direct transphobia; indirect transphobia.
