Resumen

MERCADO MONDRAGON, Jorge  y  VEENIZA BOLLO SANCHEZ, Andrea. Migration and sexual diversity. Vulnerability processes of migrant transsexuals from the Central American triangle on their way through Mexico in the face of a binary and heteronormative society. LiminaR [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.1, e979.  Epub 14-Sep-2023. ISSN 2007-8900.  https://doi.org/10.29043/liminar.v21i1.979.

The migratory phenomenon has been approached over decades from the different approaches that compose it. In this sense, it is often thought that poverty and violence are the only factors that push people to leave their communities, however, in recent years it has been observed that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender population, Transvestite, Intersex, Queer, Asexual (LGBT+) is displaced for reasons of gender violence, in particular the transsexual community. Through a series of interviews and ethnographic work, it has been possible to document part of the incidents that they suffer along the way, in order to make known the different degrees of vulnerability experienced by transsexual male and female migrants in Central America. and Mexico, especially because it is a recent phenomenon scarcely analyzed and poorly documented by the academic community, which kept migrant transsexual women and men in a situation more than invisible by the academy.

Palabras llave : LGBT+ population; transsexual people; Central American migration; Vulnerability; sexual identity; gender identity.
