Resumen

DURAN, Norma. François Hartog: the Beginning of a Career. Hist. graf [online]. 2024, n.62, pp.119-150.  Epub 26-Ene-2024. ISSN 1405-0927.  https://doi.org/10.48102/hyg.vi62.518.

This essay tries to explain the beginning of the intellectual career of François Hartog and, from this, understand the function that historiography can have today, when “presentism” consumes everything instantly and prevents perceiving any horizon for the discipline other than “the present time”. From doing historiography on Hartog’s books, we can see how he elaborates his questions and his way of reading the texts, a question that allowed him to go from the theme of alterity to his “regimes of historicity”. Finally, we can also see that historiography implies an epistemological closure from history itself and that it is from itself that it has been possible to think about the historicity in the writing of history.

Palabras llave : François Hartog; historiography; historicity; temporality; regimes of historicity; presenteeism.
