This article aims to see the different meanings that can take the word ilhuitl in relation with various contexts of use. Also, to determine how the Nahuatl language, with various resources, allows us to know how to select a meaning or another. In addition, it is proposed to determine various times that the Nahua distinguished in this temporary space called ilhuitl.
