Resumen
MAYNEZ-GUADERRAMA, Aurora Irma y CAVAZOS-ARROYO, Judith. Consequences of job exhaustion in convenience stores. Investig. adm. [online]. 2021, vol.50, n.128, 12803. Epub 23-Ago-2021. ISSN 2448-7678. https://doi.org/10.35426/iav50n128.03.
The objective was to investigate the effect of three stressful variables on job burnout, their effect on organizational cynicism and its influence on the turnover intention. The method was structural equation modeling PLS. The results showed that workload and occupational risk significantly affect emotional exhaustion, influencing cynicism and finally the intention to leave. The originality lies in the use of the Conservation of Resources theory through three stressors: working conditions, workload and occupational risk in a sector with few studies in the Mexican context. The findings highlight work overload and occupational risk as antecedents that lead to emotional exhaustion, later to cynicism and lead the worker to intend to leave the organization. The limitations are that the study was conducted only in one chain and cross sectional.
