In recent years the generation of competitive advantage for firms becomes relevant, since through it may maintain a place in the market or grow in it, since “the companies worldwide have seen their growth and confront domestic competitors and International” (Porter, 2002, p. XVII). This as a result of the globalization process that firms are embedded, which leads to the search for strategies to survive and adapt to this changing environment, by identifying the capabilities generating value.

As this research study aims to identify the capabilities business to help raise the competitive level of the hotel sector in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, from the approaches of the theory of resources and capacities. The empirical study was carried out from the application of a questionnaire to 18 sector managers to identify dimensions of entrepreneurial skills through the use of analysis techniques factorial and linear regression using SPSS software version 147. Results show that the collection of business capabilities of an organization are the functional capabilities that allow further raise the competitive level of the companies that comprise the industry Hotel in Victoria.
