The building of a culture of peace represents a horizon of possibilities to improve the coexistence in the schools. The commitment that schools are spaces for the construction of a culture of peace responds to a need that exists face to the changes in commitment that are lived inside and outside them, and to strengthen their social and individual role. Teachers can be the guideline, as promoters of the culture of peace, which does not imply to focus the building of it on them, but a possibility to tackle it and show that themselves are able to transform their own immediate environment. This paper gives a view to some aspects to think about for the construction of a culture of peace, taking as a reference the experience in the accompaniment of teacher’s intervention practices in basic education in Mexico City.
