Nanoscience in the Facultad de Ciencias of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico is a research subject of physicists and biologists as well. Physicist research groups are studying specific parts of the human genome where viruses melded with our genome and became part of our genome legacy. On the other hand, biologist research groups are applying nanoscience methods to understand better their biological nanosystems. All this should be not surprising because biologist, mathematicians and physicist share a long history together at the Facultad de Ciencias. The high lights of this history are also presented in this work.
