In 1927, a new American ambassador arrived in Mexico from the world of finance. The disagreements between the two countries were many. Furthermore, in Mexico a religious war was being waged against the established government. The friendship that Ambassador Morrow quickly forged with President Calles helped enormously to smooth over the differences between Mexico and the United States and even contributed to solving the religious conflict. The article investigates the personal characteristics that allowed the new ambassador these achievements in a minimum of time and the scope of his efforts. For this, we have followed the portrait technique, that is, the punctual description of specific features that outline the character obtained from nearby sources, which has finally allowed us to delve into the different edges that singled out Morrow.
