In this paper, simplified flexural moment coefficients for the design of reinforced concrete rectangular slabs, computed with computational mechanics, are proposed. Seven kinds of two-way panels are studied, which were modelled as cast monolithically and not cast monolithically with their supporting beams, considering that these panels are supported on principal beams or confined masonry walls. The ratio of the short span to the long span length was from 0.5 to 1 with increments of 0.1. These computed coefficients are compared with the regulatory coefficients recommended by the current provisions of the Mexican reinforced concrete guidelines of Mexico´s Federal District Code 2004 and with the regulatory coefficients recommended by the Eurocode 1992. It is shown that in 50%of the studied cases, the currently provided design coefficients are underestimated, so they must be updated.
