ACOSTA JIMENEZ, María Marlene y GUTIERREZ YURRITA, Pedro Joaquín. Precariousness in the landscape and collective action in Cuauhtepec Area, north of Mexico City. Tla-melaua [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.44, pp.182-207. ISSN 2594-0716.
In urban areas, unfavorable conditions prevail for the quality of people's life. However, these conditions do not necessarily lead to collective actions or social mobilization. As an example of this context, is to analyze of the surrounding areas of the town of Cuauhtepec, located to the north of Mexico City. The analysis is structured from the concept of landscape and based on quantitative and qualitative data. Despite the socio-environmental problems of this town, there are practically no community networks to face them. To account for this complex problem, the term landscape precariousness was coined. It is suggested that the formation of social networks is key to encourage collective actions that contribute to improving the land¬scape and the quality of life of those who live in that area.
