ZAVALA-GONZALEZ, Marco Antonio et al. Oral hypoglucemiants prescription quality in a family medical unit: Centro, Tabasco, Mexico, 2009. Rev. mex. cienc. farm [online]. 2011, vol.42, n.3, pp.42-49. ISSN 1870-0195.
We achieved a research with the aim of determining prescription quality of oral hypoglucemiants in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Non Insulin-dependent users of a Family Medical Unit of Social Security from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico during 2009. We used a cross-sectional and retrospective design for a universe of 2,678 files taking a random sample of 254 aleatorily selected. We studied demographic and sanitary variables, therapeutic scheme and prescription quality, evaluating by comparison of this versus current clinical guides. We analyzed information using descriptive statistics. Asa result, we observed that 81% of the prescriptions were inadequated and the most frequent error was due to "inadequated interval" (61 %).We concluded that the prescription quality was inadequate and measures are required to correct the problem.
