Resumen

This article captured eleven years of death data from the Civil Registry of the municipality of Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, between the years of 1913 to 1923. The objective was to analyze the demographic consequences of the 1918 “Spanish influenza” pandemic. The investigation yielded information on multiple causes of death in the period, including typhus, another epidemic that started in 1916. The entity was plagued by famine, poor harvests, higher prices for essential products and bandits, to which two terrible diseases, typhus and influenza, were added.
