Starting from the narration of the story of three great “impossible” loves we analyze the norms that ruled the relationships between men and women in the respective social contexts where the couples developed their stories. We also reflect on the factors that influenced the forced dissolution of the relationships, as well as the direction the women wanted to take and the one they actually could take in regards to their lives after they were deprived of the relationship with their partners. The work is developed by marking the trajectory that happens from the meeting between two individuals and the emergence of love, to the truncation of the possibility for the lovers of going a common path in their lives. We turn to biographic and bibliographic documents to elucidate the remains of the communication preserved by the members of these couples after the separation.
