The use of techniques particular to a field to solve problems encountered in other different areas is a valuable contribution of interdisciplinary work. In this paper, the solution to a problem of capacity planning in a telecommunications company is achieved through the use of Inventory Control techniques. Additionally, the behavior of the prescribed solutions is illustrated with the aid of different scenarios. The solution method is shown to be effective, simple and easy to implement.
