Resumen
ALVARADO CASTELLANOS, Mónica; GARCIA ALDECO, Alejandra y JIMENEZ OREGEL, Karen A.. Readers for Early Elementary School in Mexico, 1996-2015. RMIE [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.76, pp.15-43. ISSN 1405-6666.
The purpose of the project presented in this article was to evaluate four free readers in Spanish, for the first and second grades of elementary school. The analysis considered the extension, textual diversity, and the origin and number of compiled texts, as well as the lexical density and the use of adverbialized adjectives and adverbs ending in -mente, in order to determine the representativeness of the written register in these materials. The results indicate a predominance of fictional texts that progressively have presented less lexical density and extension; in addition, there has been an increase in the inclusion of texts from folk traditions. We report that the lexical density of the compiled literary texts adheres to prototypical parameters of this textual type, and that the nonfictional texts show less density. Because of the use of adverbialized adjectives, the books are representative of the spoken register.
