Resumen

ARIAS, Matteo. Alfonso Junco: the subject and the pen behind Inquisición sobre la Inquisición. Hist. graf [online]. 2023, n.61, pp.267-307.  Epub 28-Ago-2023. ISSN 1405-0927.  https://doi.org/10.48102/hyg.vi61.488.

The Mexican writer Alfonso Junco, contrary to the “official” post-revolutionary historiography, was one of the firmest defenders of Francisco Franco, and of the Catholic religion. With all this, Junco was part of the “conservative” men of letters who led the equator of the 20th century in Mexico and who formed a very specific writing of history. The intention of this article is to identify the man and the pen behind the book Inquisición sobre la Inquisición (1933) through the way in which Michel de Certeau reasoned historiography. Getting closer to understanding the enunciation place -as well as the conditions of possibility on writing about the Inquisition in 20th century- behind his book will show us the series of debates and conventions in which his writing was immersed, and how that writing is an expression of its time.

Palabras llave : Alfonso Junco; Catholicism; Inquisition; Historiography; De Certeau.
