BACKGROUND

Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) are a rare condition with approximately 100 cases reported in literature. This pathologic change affects women´s emotional and physical condition, showing as difficult control abnormal uterine bleeding. Early diagnosis and proper treatment can lead to morbimortality reduction and better prognosis.

CLINICAL CASE

We present the case of a female 22 years old, diagnosed with a uterine AVM by hysteroscopy and ultrasound. Management were initially done with selective progesterone receptor modulator due to the fertility desire, without good response. A fistulectomy was realized with an innovating technique involving the use of Doppler ultrasound to guide de procedure limited to the affected area, preserving healthy tissue with a successful response.
