Resumen

CONSTANT, Chloé. Trans* women: what kind of life after prison? A critical study on social reintegration. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2022, vol.30, n.59.  Epub 28-Abr-2023. ISSN 0188-7653.  https://doi.org/10.18504/pl3059-007-2022.

Based on a short survey and in-depth interviews that allows us to apprehend some experiences, this paper analyzes the social, economic y labor situation of trans* women who have been liberated from different male prisons in Mexico City. The analyses allow to know the life trajectories of this population and to reveal the precariousness and ruptures that exist during their after-prison life. This analysis contributes to produce knowledge about the reality experienced by some trans* women and to critical studies of the prison system and its social reintegration objective.

Palabras llave : social reintegration; after-prison life trajectories; prison system; trans* women; precariousness; Mexico.
