HERNANDEZ, Gerardo. Insecurity and political power in the North Triangle of Central America. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2020, vol.28, n.55, pp.143-169. Epub 02-Jul-2020. ISSN 0188-7653. https://doi.org/10.18504/pl2855-006-2020.
In this paper, from the theories of the logic of power and collective action, the relationship between insecurity and political power in the Northern Triangle of Central America is analyzed. It is argued that after the signing of the Peace Accords, the collective action groups that controlled the politics and economy of the States of the Northern Triangle saw democracy as a by-product to extend their extractive dominance. The rationality from which they left has provoked an antipathy toward the most vulnerable social groups facing the problem of insecurity.
