Traditional or local knowledge is a sort of knowledge inherited from oral tradition within many indigenous communities worldwide. Appropriate technology emerges as an alternative to bring closer all the benefits of technological progress within the sustainable development framework. A case study of an indigenous community in Mexico -benefited from a technology transference process due to the increasing of their life quality- analyzes diverse factors that facilitated their success as well as some lessons that public politics should learn.
