The paper explores the structural character of the current crisis, with a strong emphasis on the way the Mexican economy got entangled with USA. This relationship finds its main ground on the productive and trade net, but also in the framework that macro policies, fiscal and monetary overwhelmingly defines the actual economic environment. This crisis shows the essential weakness of the economic model besides those introduced by the global crisis. The paper explores some of the relevant issues about structural reforms that now are necessary to overcome crisis, in open opposition to those discussed from orthodox views.
