This paper presents an approach to the 'image' as seen in the pages of the crime section of three newspapers from the state of Veracruz, based on the theory of mediations posited by Manuel Martín Serrano, and analyses of image according to approaches characterized by Corona and Erausquin. It begins with a brief contextualization of violence in the state ofVeracruz and its representations in the communications media.
