This study focuses on the dynamics of power and forms of political participation mediated by kinship relations and clientelist practices. The object of study is the Ávila Camacho family, a clan of politicians characterized by its ability to develop and implement patterns of domination in the setting of postrevolutionary Puebla. The essay presents biographical information on the members of the family, the characteristics of its leadership, its mechanisms of reproduction, and the factor s that brought about the collapse of its political hegemony.
