This article presents a preliminary study at the merit pay program in the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ). The notion that guide this research is the conceptualization of academic evaluation from a socio-historical framework, which show that is political and comparative origin has assisted the State in the regulation of the form academic productivity, excluding the professors from the decision of what, who y how to evaluate. Moreover, it illustrates that the merit pay program at the UACJ is a bureaucratic instrument that promotes simulation and the administration -intentionally or not- intensifies inequality among the professors by means of their income.
