CRUZ VASQUEZ, Gabriela; AGUIRRE MUNOZ, Lucía Coral; SANCHEZ VAZQUEZ, María Alejandra  y  POU ALBERU, Sergio. Autobiographical writing as a resource for critical reflection: A pedagogic intervention with maquila workers. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2015, vol.37, n.149, pp.112-127. ISSN 0185-2698.

This piece of research explores the possibilities of autobiographical writing as a resource for critical reflection by maquila workers. Six male and female workers participated as volunteers. Participatory action research methodology was used since one of the aims was not only to strengthen the participants' skills, but also to raise their awareness. Information was collected through anonymous cards filled in by participants, what was expressed in two different discussion groups, and the research diary as well as texts written by the workers during an autobiographical writing workshop. The findings of this pedagogical intervention demonstrated that through an autobiographical writing workshop maquila workers were able to discover their innate capacity to question and share their reality with others.
