Resumen

SEGURA PEREZ, Esther  y  OLVERA RODRIGUEZ, Verónica. Profitability and postoptimality analysis of a collaborative inventory model. The Anáhuac j. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.2, pp.100-122.  Epub 20-Feb-2023. ISSN 2683-2690.  https://doi.org/10.36105/theanahuacjour.2022v22n2.04.

Since the calculations in the inventory models yield a single optimal value without considering a range of values in which the minimums are maintained, a postoptimality methodology is proposed in this study to know the limits of the optimal quantity to order. or produce for which the activities and associated costs are kept to a minimum within the supply chain, in addition to determining how profitable the investment in inventory is, by calculating the Gross margin return on investment (GMROI). Postoptimality analysis is performed over a range of 1 to 10 000 parts to order or produce for the buyer, supplier, and collaborative model inventory models. The results of the postoptimality analysis for the proposed example indicate that the joint inventory model generates a minimum cost within the supply chain when ordering and producing between 1039 and 1082 pieces; It is necessary to highlight that to apply a collaborative model between buyer and supplier, it is necessary to generate an exchange of information, formulation of plans, and negotiations so that both can obtain benefits.
