Resumen

ESCORCIA-HERNANDEZ, Lilia. Land disturbances in a Tamaulipas cemetery between 2002 and 2019. Inter disciplina [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.31, pp.75-92.  Epub 10-Nov-2023. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2023.31.86079.

The disappearance of people in Mexico increased to alarming figures, more than 100,000 individuals between 1960 and 2022, although the majority occurred after 2006. In 2014, the creation of groups of relatives of these victims increased to initiate search processes, sometimes on their own, others accompanying the authorities of the different levels of government and on rare occasions with the accompaniment of solidary anthropologists to guide with topics related to search and identification. However, the results turned out to be poor and mostly null. The complexity of the phenomenon forces us to propose different hypotheses about the parade of the disappeared and the usefulness of some methods and techniques used by anthropological disciplines in these contexts. The objective of this research is to show the systematization of the alterations observed in the soil of the Jardín de los Ángeles private cemetery, located in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, during the period between 2002 and 2019, through remote sensing, due to the fact that these could contain mass graves with human remains of unidentified individuals. The results will be useful for the search groups and for the corresponding authorities to carry it out. Keywords: disappeared, search, forensic archaeology, remote sensing.

Palabras llave : disappeared; search; forensic archaeology; remote sensing.
