In recent years, CONACyT Mexico has dedicated many resources to develop the nanotechnology. The Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo through the Instituto de Investigación en Metalurgia y Materiales has focused research efforts in this area with a group of scientist with excellent academic credentials. In this document, a brief description of the Institute as well as its contributions to nanotechnology, research interest and available scientific infrastructure is conducted.
