The present essay focuses on the importance of building citizenship from childhood through education linked to social inclusion. The rights of citizenship, the correlation between democracy and citizenship, civic education and citizen competencies are analyzed. With this, child participation reasons are analyzed from the national and inter-American legal framework. It is established that the first stages of education and training are crucial to improve social inclusion in order to reverse the citizen's disaffection. Consolidation of responsible citizenship can be achieved through education, precise information in academia and social organizations and with the full support of the State.
